FIX-A-JAMB is designed to be a repair product, not a security product. The Exterior FIX-A-JAMB is 40-inches long and is L-shaped so it covers up the damage of a broken door frame. The L-shape actually makes it a little more difficult to install, if there has been no damage to the doorjamb. Intsalling the Exterior FIX-A-JAMB requires that you remove the trim molding on the door, if it has not already been damaged. FIX-A-JAMB will make your jamb stronger but it only covers one part of the door, which leaves the locks and hinges vulnerable. Door Armor is designed to be a security product. It protects all of the vulnerable points on your door (jamb, door and hinges). The Door Armor Jamb Shield is easier to install because it does not require removal or alteration of a door to install.
